Job Title: Community Based Counselor

Status: Exempt

Reports To: Clinical Program Manager

Location: Assigned by Direct Supervisor
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in counseling, social work or related field required. Minimum 2 years of clinical experience working with individuals and/or groups. South Carolina licensure is required (LPC or LISW). Experience working with survivors of sexual assault and/or abuse highly preferred.
General Summary of Duties:
To deliver comprehensive therapeutic services for survivors of sexual assault/abuse and their loved ones in the community. Utilize and facilitate practices that create a trauma informed environment. Demonstrate professionalism and leadership in all manners of service delivery to clients and community. Work efficiently as a member of the clinical team per agency’s mission, vision, and values. This position travels throughout the five (5) counties we serve (Richland, Lexington, Sumter, Newberry, and Clarendon).
Job Expectations:

  • Work within the community at partner locations to provide full range of therapeutic services to include crisis, individual, and group counseling for survivors of sexual assault/abuse and their loved ones using agency-selected, evidence-based best practice therapy models
  • Provide case management services to include maintenance of client files for assigned case load
  • Build relationships with other service providers and community partners
  • Represent agency at various community meetings as needed

Knowledge/Skills needed:

  • Knowledge of appropriate assessments
  • Skilled in conducting treatment plans and interventions
  • Organizational skills and ability to manage client records
  • Self-discipline and ability to set priorities regarding documentation
  • Ability to maintain professional relationships with clients
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and high ethical standards

Administrative:

  • Ensure all grant, operating standards and program goals are met
  • Ensures client data and clinical notes are entered in the agency database within 48 hours of client contact
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $41,000.00 - $48,000.00 per year
