PathPoint is currently seeking full-time Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to join our Discoveries day programs in Simi Valley, CA 93065. PathPoint's day services provide skills training and support for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

In this dynamic role, you will serve as a floater across all day programs in the Simi Valley Area. Our Direct Support Professionals lead in-person, community-based, and virtual classes. The curriculum includes art, music, cooking, volunteering, and more. We're looking for creative and compassionate people who are teachers at heart, and we encourage you to bring your own ideas for new curriculum! The schedule is Monday-Friday 8:00am-4pm, 40 hours per week, and the work environment may be a mix of indoor and outdoor settings. Must be flexible with working at various sites and programs as needed.

What You'll Do:

• Teach individuals social/life skills to help them lead more independent lives, including communication skills, mobility, money management, housing, and public transportation.
• Teach individuals vocational skills to help prepare them for entry-level employment.
• Supervise individuals during hours of instruction and on community outings and volunteering.
• Build friendly and professional rapport with individuals and act as a positive role model for work habits, communication skills, and social skills.
• Prepare weekly schedules, monthly training projections, and written progress reports.

What We're Looking For:

• Patience, compassion, and the ability to interact with individuals with disabilities, their family members, and others in a positive and constructive manner.
• Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors.
• Must have a valid California driver's license with a satisfactory driving record, 5 years of driving experience, and be eligible for coverage on PathPoint's auto insurance policy.
• Culturally sensitive and aware of differences in employees based on cultural backgrounds; aware of one's own culture and how someone's background may lead to biases; has the skills and resources needed to work with employees from all different cultures and the ability to avoid making biased assumptions based on someone's culture.

Compensation: This is an hourly, non-exempt position starting at $19.00 per hour. The pay range is $16.03-$24.04 an hour.*

Bilingual: If you are bilingual (Spanish or ASL), the starting wage is $19.30 per hour and the pay range is $16.83-$25.24.*
