Direct Autism Support Coach

Program/Job Type: Agency With Choice, Per-Diem, Hourly.

Pathlight is an organization that has been dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with disabilities in Western Massachusetts communities since 1952. Our Agency With Choice program supports individuals with Autism throughout communities in Western Massachusetts.

Summary of Position:

Assist, Instruct and plan a variety of home, program and community based activities to support an Individual with Autism that positively impact the individual's dignity, safety, health, welfare, rights, development and social inclusion.

Our Coaches & Support Staff are engaged to:

Engage, assist, instruct, motivate, and monitor an individual in social/recreational and skill building activities.

Model appropriate behavior in social situations and assist in development of independence skills.

Maintain professional boundaries.

Accompany individual to recreational activities and other planned events as requested, to include providing transportation.

Confer with the supervisor and other service team members about goals, implementation and other related questions, concerns, or problems.

Inform supervisor of activities carried out, and of any additional needs recognized.

Complete related records as required by contract or supervisor in standard formats.

Ensure confidentiality of all information shared concerning the individual, family, other care providers and the safe keeping of all related documents.

Apply Pathlight and program policies and procedures, particularly in the areas of crisis, emergency, health and safety, individual rights and preventing and reporting abuse.

Submit weekly time sheets with summaries of activities in a timely manner. Submit timely and accurate mileage reimbursement requests.

Participate in periodic meetings regarding the individual's progress and carry out changes as recommended.

Attend and participate in program meetings and required trainings.

Perform other similar and related duties as needed or assigned by supervisor.

Required Qualifications:

Requires valid driver's license and reliable transportation/vehicle.

High School Diploma or GED.

Previous knowledge and 1 year's of experience directly involved in helping an individual with intellectual disabilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

Over 1 year up working with adults with autism.

Job Type: Per-Diem

Pay: $18.00 per Hour
