The Director of Residential Supports plays a pivotal role in overseeing the operational and strategic aspects of the Residential Supports department at Pathfinder. With a focus on providing the highest quality of care, the Director leads and develops the team to ensure optimal staffing ratios, individual choice, and a safe environment for individuals supported.

Key responsibilities include establishing and maintaining compliance with regulatory bodies, developing processes and procedures in alignment with agency policies and regulations, and ensuring accurate service documentation. The Director trains and directs supervisory personnel, fosters staff engagement through regular communication and team-building activities, and invests in employee professional development.

Moreover, the Director manages agency resources responsibly, maximizes funding possibilities, and determines appropriate staffing levels within residential services. They establish and implement departmental goals, generate statistical reports, and build community relationships to enhance awareness and collaboration.

In addition, the Director plays a key role in strategic planning, identifying new program opportunities aligned with the organization's mission and values, and ensuring that services remain individualized, person-centered, and true to Pathfinder's values. They respond to crisis situations promptly, participate in on-call duties as needed, and maintain effective relationships with participants and stakeholders.

Requirements

Preferred Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in social work or related major preferred.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Basic language, written, and computer skills necessary for communication and documentation.
• Demonstrated ability to support people with disabilities.
• Five years minimum experience supporting people with intellectual developmental disabilities, preferably in a Medicaid waiver-funded setting preferred.
• Three to five years minimum of management experience.
• Valid driver’s license, insured vehicle, safe driving record.
• Ability to understand and analyze financial statements and other reports to strategically manage daily operations.
• Prior experience in large-scale program management preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, people management, and supervision skills.
• Ability to work well in a team environment and handle multiple assignments with competing priorities.
• Essential physical skills – be able to run, squat, stoop/bend, kneel, climb stairs, be able to lift 50 pounds, push and pull against potential resistance; and be able to implement CPR and First Aid when needed.
• Have adequate vision, writing, and documentation skills to perform the job's essential functions.
