You will be supporting people to live their own lives during the Summer Camp season. To do that, you will make connections and build bonds through person-centered thinking. No worries, we'll train you on being person-centered. You will also receive paid professional healthcare certifications to guide you on quality support, documentation, charting, working on goals, and meeting milestones. Providing support may look like going on a hike, having a movie night, or spending time learning and teaching a new recipe in the kitchen. It can also look like doing physical therapy exercises, working out at the gym, or providing personal care as needed.
In your pivotal role, you'll immerse yourself in understanding the unique challenges faced by those with disabilities, striving to enhance their ability to lead self-directed lives. This encompasses advocating for their rights, facilitating access to necessary accommodations, and aiding them in meeting their financial and support needs. Your approach will be deeply personalized, fostering relationships based on mutual respect and understanding and employing a diverse range of communication skills to collaborate effectively with the individuals you support, their families, and your colleagues.
You'll take an active role in teaching and providing support in ways that bolster the individual's strengths and capabilities, ensuring they have the opportunity to make choices and learn new skills in a variety of settings. This includes transporting them as necessary, following through on support plans, and documenting their progress and daily activities. Additionally, you'll be a guide in helping them navigate their daily living skills and personal support needs, all while maintaining a steadfast respect for their privacy and confidentiality.
Your responsibilities will also involve planning and implementing individualized support plans in a manner that is both ethical and professional, prioritizing the well-being and autonomy of each person you assist. This includes administering medications, monitoring for any medical conditions, and ensuring that the people you support are living in safe, abuse-free environments. You'll also focus on the safety and maintenance of their living spaces, preparing for emergencies, and ensuring a safe driving experience during transportation.
By joining us, you'll become an integral part of a team dedicated to providing meaningful support and advocacy for individuals, enabling them to lead fulfilling lives. Our comprehensive training program is designed to equip you with the skills needed for success and growth within Pathfinder, ensuring you feel supported every step of the way in your journey with us.
