PATH BEHAVIORAL HEALTHCARE

TITLE: Nurse Practitioner, Behavioral Health

LOCATION: Cincinnati

UP TO: $55/HR

BLOODBORNE PATHOGEN CATEGORY I: Tasks with actual blood/body fluid exposure are not included in this position’s duties as the job requires therapeutic counseling only.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Day-To-Day Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive mental/behavioral health care including integration with psychiatry, clinical therapist and case management to a complex adolescent and adult patient/family population.

Function interdependently with physicians and will be responsible for providing quality integrated care. consultation, education, and collaboration with other healthcare professionals.

Assess, diagnose, and treat individuals and families.

Provide client education.

Provide appropriate client referrals.

Collaborate with Medical Director and other physicians or NPs in scheduled care conferences.

Order client laboratory screenings and interpret results.

Review documentation of prior care and consult with prior care providers.

Prescribe medications within the scope of your practice.

Maintain follow-up care with clients/families.

Document all care in a timely and appropriate fashion in electronic health record in compliance with company standards for timely documentation.

Utilize correct coding guidelines for billing for care; provide information to billing department for resolution of claim reviews or claim denials.

Contract appropriate authorities to accurately report concerns of abuse or neglect per the standards of your professional licensing body.

Work collaboratively and professionally with law enforcement, court systems, probation departments, foster care providers and all appropriate others.

Day-To-Day Team Member Responsibilities

Willingly serves in a professional and collaborative capacity with all other employees of Path Behavioral Healthcare.

Fully understands and complies with all organizational processes and policies.

Collaborates with all colleagues and coworkers to communicate with transparency and drive implementation of the organization’s goals, objectives, and processes.

Maintains an organized practice and schedule.

Is at work on time and ready to work, and leaves work at the completion of client care responsibilities.

Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA guidelines and confidentiality agreements.

Maintains a demeanor of positive professionalism.

Serves as a model for others to exemplify the mission and vision of Path Behavioral Healthcare.

Successful completion of an approved nurse practitioner program.

Current approval by the joint Board of Medical Examiners and Board of Nursing to perform medical acts.

Attends all pertinent internal educational meetings and all completes all continuing education opportunities necessary per the requirements of your licensing body.

Maintain and active, unrestricted licensed as a registered nurse in the state.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Active nursing license. Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree from an accredited university

Licensure: Board of Nursing licensure - Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner STRONGLY PREFERRED and Active DEA required

Experience/Skills: Minimum of 3 years nursing experience. Minimum of 1 year in a behavioral health environment Thorough knowledge of billing and coding guidelines.

Physical Effort: Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours. Requires sitting, viewing computer monitors and keyboarding for extended periods of times. Requires ability to communicate professionally via telephone and in writing. Must be able to lift 30 pounds

Interpersonal Skills: Requires excellent interpersonal and time management skills and a calm, professional style of communication.

Background: Must pass all federal and state background checks. Educational and work history will be confirmed in compliance with company policies.
