PATH BEHAVIORAL HEALTHCARE

TITLE: Child Therapist, Behavioral Health

RESPONSIBLE TO: Clinical Supervisor

UP TO $45/HR

SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Clinical Supervisor, the Behavioral Health Therapist’s primary role is to utilize their specialized clinical knowledge and advanced clinical skills in the areas of clinical counseling, diagnostic interviews, assessments and preparation and delivery of treatment plans for clients ages 3-12, in a clinic or telemedicine setting as meets the needs of the client.

BLOODBORNE PATHOGEN CATEGORY I: Tasks with actual blood/body fluid exposure are not included in this position’s duties as the job requires therapeutic counseling only.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Day-To-Day Responsibilities

Provide Individual and Group strengths-based therapy to adolescents, adults and families.

Establish clear goals and strategies for the welfare of the client.

Maintain documentation of services provided and client progress.

Work with the client to develop an Individual Treatment Plan according to OMHAS and CARF person/family-centered standards.

Review and monitor services and activities, documenting progress.

Support our care team environment by working collaboratively with Client and Client Family as appropriate, physicians, nurse practitioners, case management, referral sources and ancillary agencies.

Provide client referrals to psychiatry/nurse practitioners, support groups or other mental health professionals or agencies.

Appropriately document services provided per the policies of PATH Behavioral Health, your professional licensing body and state and federal guidelines.

Participate in care conferences and case reviews.

Document and report concern of abuse or neglect to the appropriate authorities per the requirements of state/federal law and that of your licensing body.

Work professionally with referring providers or agencies, court systems, probation departments, foster care agencies and school system.

Must be committed and respectful of cultural diversity, religious and personal values and traditions of clients and their families in alignment with agency mission.

Willingly serves in a professional and collaborative capacity with all other employees of Path Behavioral Healthcare.

Fully understands and complies with all organizational processes and policies.

Collaborates with all supervisors and coworkers to communicate with transparency and drive implementation of the organization’s goals, objectives, and processes.

Maintains an organized practice and schedule.

Is at work on time and ready to work, and leaves work at the completion of client care responsibilities.

Reduces client rescheduling by fully informing appropriate person of necessary time off work.

Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA guidelines, confidentiality agreements and billing and coding guidelines and company policy.

Maintains a demeanor of positive professionalism.

Serves as a model for others to exemplify the mission and vision of Path Behavioral Healthcare.

Licensing/Continuing Education

  • Maintains an active, unrestricted Ohio license to provide clinical counseling services.
  • Attends all continuing education opportunities necessary per the requirements of your licensing body.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelors or Masters of Social Work or Clinical Counseling Masters degree from an accredited university.

Licensure: LSW, LISW, LISW-S, LPC, LPCC, LPCC-S. Must be licensed in the state of Ohio.

Physical Effort: Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.

Requires sitting, viewing computer monitors and keyboarding for extended periods of time. Requires ability to communicate professional via telephone and in writing.

Interpersonal Skills: Requires excellent interpersonal skills and professional communication style.

Background: Must pass all federal and state background checks. Educational and work history will be confirmed in compliance with company policies.
