The billing specialist will report directly to the Billing and Claims Manager and Director.

Billing Specialist Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

· Maintain current insurance requirements and forms.

· Verify proper reimbursement is received for services provided.

· Process and follow up with insurance claims.

· Document and code information.

· Oversee insurance and personal accounts.

· Interpret dental records.

· Review patient accounts and determine appropriate billing distribution.

· Process statements and enter information into database.

· Review past due bills and follow up on past due accounts.

· Efficiently reconcile bank account/s.

· Perform other job-related job duties as assigned.

Billing Specialist Qualifications:

· Knowledge of dental or medical billing (at least 1-year experience in dental office or billing position).

· Good understanding of medical and dental billing and claims. Must maintain Accounts Receivable (AR) at 98% or higher.

· Effectively work with insurance companies and patients to get claims/ accounts paid.

· Enhanced customer service and communication skills to discuss accounts and insurance logistics with patients.

· Well organized, diligent, and good computer skills.

· Ability to work independently.

· Adaptable, personable, friendly, and team focused.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
