Passero Associates is Hiring a Construction Manager Near St. Augustine, FL

Passero Associates has an exciting career opportunity for a Construction Manager professional with civil and aviation experience in our St. Augustine, FL office to work on a wide variety of aviation and municipal construction projects. Responsibilities include managing municipal and airport construction progress, and specifically observing and coordinating construction work with internal staff members, selected contractors, and subconsultants in multiple offices. Projects will include airfield pavement rehabilitation/expansion (asphalt and concrete), lighting/signage/electrical improvements, utility/access/parking improvements, terminal and hangar developments, storm water drainage improvements, and fuel farm installation.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide constructability reviews of construction plans.
  • Observe construction activities on behalf of the engineer-of-record, determining if the work completed is in conformance with the construction plans and technical specifications.
  • Prepare daily reports of construction activities, including photographic documentation.
  • Attend pre-construction meetings and construction progress meetings.
  • Review contractors pay applications to confirm that they represent work completed to date.
  • Perform project site observations and prepare punch lists that detail work items to be addressed.
  • Coordinate project tasks with subconsultants and project team members in other office locations.
  • Training and mentoring of junior staff members.
  • Regular travel to project sites required.

Qualifications/ Experience:

  • 4-year degree in construction management, civil engineering or related fields
  • Experience in roadway, airport, civil site, or transportation construction observation or management.
  • Familiarity with FAA or DOT specifications, standards, best practices, and procedures, a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • Strong organization, management, problem solving, and communication skills (written, verbal) within a team environment.
  • Focus on client service, integrity, and servant leadership.
