  • You do not feel a need to discuss what happens at the office with others outside the office.

We love to help people learn and grow, but we don't have the time for that right now.

We need a paralegal with experience in criminal defense.

The ideal candidate will be able to take initiative on work that needs to be done and complete tasks with minimal hand-holding.

This is a full-time job where you are expected to manage a caseload, so you absolutely must be able to work in the office for 40 hours per week.

This position is an on-site, in-person position in our Utica, NY office.

Responsibilities:

This position will be responsible for important work, including:

  • Gathering and managing the inflow of documents and electronic data
  • Managing the discovery via DEMS
  • Creating motions/pleadings as needed
  • Working with clients directly
  • Corresponding with Courts
  • Managing attorney schedule
  • Prepare matters for hearings and trials

Qualifications:

Skills required:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows
  • Proficiency/Familiarity in using case management software
  • Knowledge of state and local rules/regulations
  • Experience in the practice area (criminal law)
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented
  • Superb communication skills - both written and verbal
