A trading company is seeking an experienced supply/chain purchasing manager for a new Corporate Purchasing and Supply Chain Manager position!

NATURE AND SCOPE:

The Corporate Purchasing and Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for developing new supply chain strategies for all branches in the United States, as well as managing purchasing activities for these branches. This includes but not limited to researching and evaluating components and suppliers, negotiating, managing supplier relations, developing and implementing cost reduction strategies, optimizing logistics, and assisting in day-to-day operations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and/or equivalent experience
• 3 or more years of supervisory or management experience in purchasing/supply chain
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Experience with supplier and logistics evaluation and development
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to multi-task and meet all job expectations.
• Willingness to pursue personal continuous training and development.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Knowledge of quality and business systems
• Understanding of engineering drawings

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Act as main point of contact between suppliers and the company
• Communicate and coach purchasing staff to manage, implement and track sourcing strategies, logistics strategies, design changes, capacity studies and new product introductions.
• Collaborate with corporate management and branches to adjust supplier development as needed to improve cost competitiveness or handle supply constraints.
• Drive improvement across all branches utilizing Lean methodologies and supplier performance criteria.
• Develop cost effective and efficient logistics routes, both domestic and international, for all products.
• Drive supplier selection through robust qualification processes in accordance with the company’s standards.
• Assist with new product launches by working with suppliers to ensure that key milestones are achieved (APQP, PPAP, Samples etc.)
• Research external market information.
• Keep up with manufacturing and engineering trends.
• Write reports and present progress to management
• Conduct benchmarking studies to determine best practices/designs and future trends.
• Travel as needed.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by management
