We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medication Technician to join our team. As a Medication Technician, you will be responsible for administering medications to patients under the supervision of a nurse or healthcare professional. This role requires attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a strong commitment to providing quality care.
Duties:
- Administer medications to patients according to prescribed dosages and schedules
- Document medication administration accurately and timely in medical records
- Monitor patients for any adverse reactions or side effects from medications
- Assist with vital sign measurements and record them appropriately
- Collaborate with nurses and healthcare professionals to ensure proper medication management
- Maintain a clean and organized medication cart or area
- Follow all safety protocols and infection control measures
- Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients during medication administration
Experience:
- Previous experience in senior care, nursing homes, or home care settings is preferred
- Familiarity with medical documentation systems such as Epic is a plus
- Knowledge of basic anatomy and medical terminology
- Ability to accurately read and interpret medical records
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely
