Position Description

TITLE: Part-time Custodian

$16.25/hour

PURPOSE: Opens and secures the building on a daily basis. To provide room set-up, cleaning, oversight, basic maintenance, and grounds-keeping for the church campus.

REPORTING STRUCTURE: Reports directly to Church Administrator.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain security of the premises including opening and disarming the alarm for the campus in the morning, unlock rooms for use, ensure that building is in a safe condition, lock and alarm facility at end of daily schedule.
• Set-up rooms for church, tenants and community events. Arrange rooms to meet requirements for seating, audio visual equipment, sound, and food serving needs. Return areas to original condition after events.
• Perform daily cleaning regiments including vacuuming, dusting, trash removal, kitchen and bathroom sanitation, sweeping of walkways and halls. Perform other cleaning duties as necessary, including disinfecting spaces in reference to covid pandemic.
• Monitor tenant usage for compliance to campus rules.
• Perform basic maintenance including but not limited to painting, changing light bulbs, moving furniture and other items as assigned.
• Perform basic maintenance of grounds including but not limited to removing trash, watering, raking, trimming, and planting.
• Notify Church Administrator of issues with buildings, grounds, supplies and tenants.
• Other duties as assigned by Church Management Personnel.

SCHEDULE: Sundays, 8 hours (schedule will vary)

REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to lift and carry up to 60 lbs.
• Flexibility to adjust work schedule to meet church needs.
• Ability to perform the duties required of the position including use of ladders, ability to bend over, and ability to use basic tools.
• Ability to communicate in English and authorization to work in the US.
• Ability to support the missions of the church and its congregations.

EXPERIENCE:

• 1 year custodial, janitorial, or maintenance preferred.
