Office Location: Primarily remote option with requirement to attend mandatory onsite meetings as necessary; Available for the Gastonia NC location.

Projected Hiring Range: Depending on Experience

Primary Purpose of Position:  This position is responsible for operations and administrative activities including provider and vendor contracting oversight and staffing and training as required in the Tailored Plan Contract. The primary purpose of this position is to provide executive level leadership, planning and direction in operational areas throughout the organization. This position works to ensure effective integration of direct reporting areas into the operations of the system as a whole and will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer in strategic planning and overall company operations.

Role and Responsibilities: 

  • Provides oversight and leadership in operational areas as assigned by the CEO and may include but not be limited to:
  • Responsible for all operational activities and requirements to confirm and comply with State Contracts or inquiries regarding contracts requirements.
  • Provider Network
  • Staffing and training
  • Special projects 
  • Strategic plan leadership and reporting
  • Serves as executive liaison/advisor to Operations Team
  • Process improvement initiatives
  • Vendor Contract Oversight (i.e., with Delegated Contractors)
  • Sets operational goals, program standards and objectives for applicable departments, resolving resource allocation and program integration issues. Ensures that the operations departments are continuously focused on the mission and vision of Partners and that the member is the primary focus.
  • Participates on the Executive Leadership Team to engage in the planning and implementation of strategies aimed toward continuous improvement of operations and partnership with all stakeholders.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:  

  • Comprehensive knowledge of management principles, techniques and practices, particularly in the field of healthcare and ideally in the managed care environment
  • Demonstrated success in building relationships with various stakeholders, including network providers, government officials, members and families.
  • Strong negotiation skills, business acumen, and analytical prowess
  • Strong financial, data, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Financial planning and budget management capabilities
  • Outstanding interpersonal, oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in analyzing situations and making decisions
  • Ability to lead employees and programs in the various areas of responsibility
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive and effective working relationships with the general public, with Federal, State and local officials, Partners staff and a variety of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated abilities to build effective teams, facilitate staff working together collaboratively and retaining top talent

Education/Experience Required: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; seven (7) years of experience in a managed care organization. Must reside in North Carolina.

Education/Experience Preferred:  Master’s Degree in Business, Health Administration, Public Administration, Human Services from an accredited university and 3 years of executive level experience.
