SCIENTIST – ANALYTICAL PROCESS SCIENCE (Onsite)

POSITION SUMMARY

The Analytical Process Science Department is a group of scientists and subject-matter experts who specialize in the development of methods for the analysis of commercial drug substance and drug product. This position will work on independent research projects as well as collaborate with the development team in both non-GMP and GMP environments.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leads the development, design, optimization, and qualification of analytical methods for in-process, characterization, and lot release testing of products.
  • Provides analytical support of process development, extended characterization, method validation, and investigations in cross-functional and cross-departmental project teams.
  • Participates on working teams related to Analytical Lifecycle Management.
  • Effectively communicates and collaborates with internal and external collaborators.
  • Authors and reviews technical documents including protocols, SOPs, and technical reports.
  • Maintains high-quality and organized records and documentation.
  • Maintains a safe work environment in accordance with policies, procedures, and regulations.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES

  • Degree required: Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmacy, or related discipline; or MS with 6 years progressively responsible, relevant industry experience; or BS with 8 years of progressively responsible, relevant industry experience.
  • Proven experience with and understanding of Protein Chemistry and Characterization of Biologics required.
  • Experience with and understanding of analytical methodologies including HPLC and CE-SDS required.
  • Knowledge and application of GLP, cGMP, ICH guidelines, and regulatory compliance strongly preferred.
  • Detail-orientation with the proven ability to work independently, complete written and verbally assigned tasks following specific procedures, and ability and willingness to make decisions based on scientific knowledge and sound judgment.
  • Strong organizational skills, effective time management skills, ability to flex with business needs, and a natural self-starter are required.
  • Effective written, oral, and interpersonal skills are also required for this team-oriented, collaborative role. Skilled at leading effective meetings and making presentations when required. Possesses writing and computer skills sufficient to create documents and reports.

PTx is committed to the principles of competitive and pay equity for all of our Partners. The current pay range for this position is $104,000 - $159,000. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time. Your salary will vary depending on several factors including your education, training, qualifications, and experience relevant to the role.
