SUMMARY

  • SUMMARY

    Partner Engineering and Science, Inc. is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Manager in our Plano, TX office supporting our Geotechnical Engineering practice. Our ideal candidate for this dynamic and challenging role will be responsible for the following tasks outlined below.

     RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Build and oversee a team of technical field and laboratory staff
    • Oversee and execute construction materials testing and inspection projects
    • Responsible charge of field and laboratory testing methods and required certifications
    • Approval of field sampling and laboratory testing plans
    • Train staff and project-level personnel
    • Field and laboratory work as needed
    • Review of geotechnical reports and engineering design drawings by others
    • Review of lab and field data from others
    • Review of inspection and engineer of record reports
    • Final review of proposals to ensure scope meets engineering requirements
    • Client interactions for technical issues
    • Interactions with outside engineers/contractors on the construction team

     QUALIFICATIONS

    • 5 years of experience in construction materials testing, special inspections, geotechnical, and/or structural engineering field
    • Experience working as a Certified Deputy Inspector, Lab Manager, and/or Project Manager
    • A geology or Engineering degree preferred
    • Current lab and field certifications or professional certifications required
    • Outstanding client relationships/ability to quickly develop new clients for Partner

     PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Must be able to read, write, speak and comprehend English
    • Must be able to communicate clearly in person and over the telephone
    • Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screen
    • Requires frequent bending, reaching, standing, walking, sitting, pushing, and pulling exerted regularly throughout the work shift.
    • Field work including hand-augers, sampling soil, performing field soil tests and concrete tests, etc.
    • Laboratory work, including lifting and moving soil samples and lab equipment, sieving of soils and aggregate, etc. will be needed from time to time
