SUMMARY

Partner is seeking a full-time Regional Director to support the continued expansion of our Environmental Solutions Group in the southwest United States (generally Southern California, Arizona, and Nevada). The position is based in Southern California, with the ideal location being Irvine and secondary options being Torrance (headquarters) or Pasadena.

Partner’s Environmental Solutions Group in the southwest United States is a developed remediation/mitigation practice (including but not limited to site characterization, risk assessments, mitigation/remedial actions for all media, negotiating regulatory closures, litigation support, and expert witness, and other services) with over 100 active projects in the collective states of California, Arizona, and Nevada. The position will be responsible for overseeing the growing team of approximately 20 professionals, maximizing revenue and profit generated through Partner’s due diligence “funnel” projects, facilitating technical discussions with clients and Partner Relationship Managers (RMs), managing staff utilization within the southwestern region, developing and mentoring junior staff, creating and maintaining a strong work culture, serving as a primary client and agency facing expert, maintaining positive relationships with regulators, participation in industry associations and technical conferences, serving as senior technical reviewer on various region projects, leading internal and external business development efforts for region growth.

This position will collaborate with the National Managing Director and other Regional Directors across the US and requires registration as a Professional Geologist / Professional Civil Engineer in California (registrations in other states in addition to California is a plus) and an ability to demonstrate a high level of professionalism with internal and external stakeholders. Candidate must have relationships with California regulators and significant experience with regulatory agency negotiations and site closures, as well as excellent communication, personal, and conflict management skills to interact with internal technical and sales staff, clientele, regulators, and attorneys. Existing client relationships and a profitable project portfolio are a plus, as well as being active in industry organizations and affiliations for continued technical education and business development.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Capable of increasing revenue and effectively managing staff utilization and profitability of the region
  • Prepare proposals collaboratively with the team and oversee proposal communication and negotiation with clients
  • Build company credibility, brand value, and trust with prospective customers; Gain knowledge, insight, and understanding from key decision-makers regarding clients’ needs/challenges; Identify strategies and services that address clients’ needs · Develop a strong presence with clients, regulators, and vendors in the region · Enliven company culture and support vision, mission and values
  • Represent the company at tradeshows and conferences, attend industry-specific networking events, and contribute to blog postings, technical papers, and other company marketing efforts · Support both the Partner staff and the Clients by meeting with Clients on a regular basis
  • Strategize with and support the other members of the team to cohesively market all Partner services
  • Stay current on regulatory requirements, emerging contaminants, mitigation, and remedial technologies
  • Collaborate with the Environmental Solutions Managing Director to grow regional operations and increase Partner’s visibility as a remediation/environmental solutions consultant within the industry
  • Collaborate effectively with staff, other Regional Directors, Partner Relationship Managers, and Executive Team
  • Provide mentorship/management of group personnel in western US offices · Excellent writing skills and document review capabilities for proposals, technical documents, and reports
  • Technical expertise in indoor air quality; well installation procedures; soil, risk assessments, soil vapor, and groundwater remedial actions; project cost estimating; evaluation of technical graphics; design, installation, and operation of sub-slab depressurization and soil vapor extraction systems; groundwater treatment design/implementation; and other applicable expertise
  • Litigation support and expert witness experience are a plus
  • Ability and willingness to work as a team and share/borrow resources with other regions

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum – Registration as a Professional Geologist or Professional Civil Engineer in California (registration in other states in addition to California is a plus)
  • 15-20 years of relevant experience
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to build collaborative teams with a positive work culture
  • Existing client base and profitable project portfolio
  • Ability to effectively interact with other Directors and Corporate leadership
  • Current 40-hour HAZWOPER training plus PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be able to fluently read, write, speak, and comprehend English
  • Must be able to communicate clearly in person at a level commensurate with client/staff / corporate personnel · Required periodic travel within the United States

Compensation:

This is what we reasonably expect to pay for the role $135,000 - $175,000. The pay scale for this role considers a wide range of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Please note, that the disclosed pay scale estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic location where the position may be filled.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary incentive bonus program which is dependent on various factors, including, but not limited to individual and organizational performance.
