Space Coast Health Center
- Building rapport with patients and providing empathetic support through a peer perspective.
- Utilizing personal experiences to inspire hope and promote sustainable engagement in recovery.
- Assisting individuals in identifying strengths and applying them to overcome substance use challenges.
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to develop comprehensive, individualized care plans.
- Providing supportive transitions from acute care settings to outpatient services or community recovery resources.
- Advocating for patients’ rights and preferences, promoting autonomy and resilience.
- Linking individuals to primary care providers, behavioral health resources, and services such as Medication for Opiate Use Disorder (MOUD).
Formal Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Specialized training in Peer Recovery within the first 6 months of employment.
- Personal lived experience with substance use recovery with two years of recovery experience..
- Knowledge of community resources and the local healthcare system are desirable.
- Valid driver’s license is required.
- Must pass Level II background or be eligible for waiver from State of Florida
