Job Purpose
At Parr, our Drivers are essential to fulfilling the needs of our customers by making sure they are receiving their orders on-time and in great condition. The ideal driver is someone who is driven to maintain safety regulations and above and beyond customer service.
Depending on the location the Millworks Driver reports directly to the location Manager, Production Manager, Ops Lead, or Shop Foreman and interacts daily with customers, dispatchers, receivers and load-builders. Located out of our Bend, Oregon Lumberyard. A full-time schedule is typically Monday-Friday starting around 6am and working until all loads for the day have been delivered.
Starting at $21.30 to $25.21 an hour, depending on experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
Tasks:
- Safely and efficiently load and unload building materials from commercial motor vehicle
- Legally, safely and efficiently travel to destinations through public and private roads
- Complete mileage and fuel usage reports
- Demonstrates commitment to on time and in full deliveries
- Follow delivery procedures by taking photos of delivered shipment after completing each delivery
- Perform daily pre-trip and post trip inspections of all equipment
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with customers, contractors and vendors
- Perform required safety audit of vehicle (daily safety audits, weekly brake inspections) and promptly report any malfunctioning equipment as required by Federal and state regulations and company policy
- Promptly report all accidents/incidents
- Annually update driver's qualification file as required by Federal and state regulations and company policy
- Maintain yard, warehouse and vehicle cleanliness during course of work
- Finds productive work to do in down time
- Keeps truck supplied, organized, and clean
- Comes to work professionally attired
- Checks load for accuracy
- Proactively manages job site conditions for next delivery and communicates with others

- Always demonstrates consistency in following safety protocols
- Demonstrates care, has minimal product damage
- Proactively and consistently brings safety issues to attention of manager and team
- Encourages coworkers to follow best practices with safety
- Participates on safety committee as able
- Teaches and coaches teammates to learn from other's mistakes
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Class C License
- Current DOT Medical Card or must obtain DOT medical card as condition of employment
- Acceptable driving record
- Knowledge of vehicle safety audits and reports of any malfunctioning equipment as required by Federal and State regulations and company policy
- Open and transparent communication
- Familiarity with GPS devices or map applications
- Driving experience within 50-mile radius of primary location preferred

This position will be working at a millworks facility and make deliveries at jobsites in all weather conditions.
