Parkview Health is Hiring a Clinical Lab Scientist Near Fort Wayne, IN
CERTIFIED CLINICAL LAB SCIENTIST
Sign-on Bonus Eligible!
SCHEDULE
Hours per week: Up to 40 hours
Weekend Requirements: Rotating weekends
Shift: Evenings and Nights available
SUMMARY
The Lab Scientist is responsible for accurately performing medical laboratory tests following all regulatory requirements and established laboratory policies and procedures. In addition, this position will be responsible for performing required clinical instrument maintenance and quality control. The position will ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and keep the lab in continuous inspection readiness.
EDUCATION
Associate's degree or Bachelor of Science in Biology, Chemistry or Medical Lab Science with the following credit hours; 16 in Biology (at least 1 in Microbiology) , 16 in Chemistry (at least 1 in Biochemistry or Organic Chemistry). Completion of a NAACLS accredited Clinical Laboratory Science program preferred.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist, Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Technician, Clinical Laboratory Technician, or Microbiologist (through ASCP, NCA, AMT, or AAB)
OR
Have at least 1 year of clinical laboratory experience, performing non-waived patient testing, in a CLIA certified lab. Must pass a nationally recognized certification exam (AMT or ASCP) within 18 months of hire date.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Must have visual acuity and color discrimination. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
