- Perform routine activities such as building and grounds maintenance, including operation and maintenance of basic equipment such as string trimmers and lawn mowers.
- Perform repetitive trash collection and removal daily.
- Assist in the upkeep and repair of park furnishings (bench repair and graffiti removal) and road/path repair.
- May interact with park patrons to resolve concerns, answer questions, and provide general directions.
- May assist with housekeeping as needed during busy weekends.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license that allows the candidate to legally operate a motor vehicle in New York State as a term and condition of employment.
- Applicant must be physically able to perform medium to heavy physical labor.
- Applicant must be able to operate and perform routine maintenance on a variety of mechanical equipment. This includes trucks, lawn mowers, and string trimmers.
- Applicant must be able to work both independently and with others.
- Applicant must have the ability to communicate effectively with fellow staff and park patrons.
- Applicant must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
