Job Summary and Qualifications

The Infection Prevention Director manages the administration of the Infection Prevention policies, procedures and program.

What you will do in this role:

• You will implement and maintain an effective organizational-wide program for surveillance, prevention and control of infections.
• You will coordinate with employee health regarding blood borne pathogens exposures, vaccination requirements, and policy development.
• You will be competent in TheraDoc surveillance.
• In this role, you will perform review of Infection Prevention policies and procedures annually or more often as needed; complete updates in Policy Stat.
• You will maintain NSHN access; Submit data to NHSN in an accurate and timely manner; maintain all requirements set forth by CMS and HCA.
• Your role will educate individuals and groups regarding the risks, prevention, transmission and control of infections, disease specific care, appropriate precautions and appropriate assessments.
• You will participate in active rounding throughout facilities to observe practices, perform surveillance, provide in-time education to healthcare team, and advise leadership, staff, medical staff and other professionals. Correspond, provide education and advise patients and families as indicated. Ensure all team members perform rounding routinely.
• You will provide updates to and consult with Medical Director of Infection Prevention as needed, including routine meetings to evaluate all hospital-acquired infections.
• You will communicate and provide updates to Division and Corporate level leadership as requested.
• You will participate in multidisciplinary rounds as indicated.
• You role will contribute to moderately complex aspects of a project.
• You will compile infection data and provide support for the reporting of data to required committees; including, but not limited to MEC and BOG.
• You will provide information, communicate, and coordinate with local and national public health agencies as required for State and CMS.
• With cooperation of Emergency Response personnel, you will coordinate and respond to crises situations related to Infection Control/Risk of Infections.
• You will identify and investigate infection clusters, outbreaks and/or unusual pathogens and initiates appropriate control measures.
• You will ensure the privacy of our patients and confidentiality of their Protected Health Information (PHI).

What qualifications you will need:

• RN with current Tennessee licensure or Compact Licensure in state of residence; CIC -certification in Infection Prevention within two years of hire
• Five years of clinical experience, one year of management experience, and one year of infection prevention experience required.
• Improvement methodology skills, systems understanding, facilitation and teaching skills, computer, written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, organized and detailed
• Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred

Parkridge Medical Center is a 270 bed hospital. We are near downtown Chattanooga. We feature comprehensive diagnostic, medical, and surgical services. These services include cardiovascular surgery and cancer treatment. These services include intensive care, orthopedic and spine surgery, and rehabilitation. The facility includes a state of the art neurosurgery program. Patients also have access to OB-GYN services. Patients have access to a level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. They also have access to (NICU) and behavioral health treatment centers for children and adults.
