Transport Driver

  • Location: Jerome, ID

The Opportunity:

The Transport Driver position is responsible for bulk fuel deliveries, retrieving directions, and providing customer service and logistics support with respect to fuel department deliveries throughout the geographic area.

Responsibilities:

  • Safely transports and delivers loaded and empty tanker, bulk, semi & van trucks in a professional, safe, efficient, timely and legal manner.
  • Hooks and unhooks trailers, operates pumps and valves both on and off the truck and safely fills tanks of all types and sizes.
  • Loads and unloads trailers and rail cars.
  • Ensures customer orders are correctly handled and delivered. Monitors key performance data to anticipate customer service problems, opportunities, and risks.
  • Effectively coordinates with dispatchers and others to resolve any issues, problems or concerns that arise in transit or during delivery. Decides and disseminates solutions to meet and satisfy customer needs.
  • Maintains a viable relationship with management, dispatchers, customers, and fellow employees to ensure customers’ needs are always met.
  • Provides accurate accident, safety, and various other related reporting as required.
  • Follows appropriate safety procedures for transporting dangerous goods.
  • May assist in warehouse on an ad hoc basis by safely operating warehouse equipment (e.g. forklift, hand trucks, pallet jacks, etc.).
  • Performs and assumes other duties and responsibilities as may be required.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Valid Class A Driver's License
  • Clean driving record
  • Current DOT Medical Card
  • 1-year full time verifiable tractor-trailer tanker experience
  • Tanker and Hazmat endorsements
  • Doubles/Triples endorsements
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions with previous experience driving in winter weather
  • Able and willing to work long hours including day and night shifts
  • Proficient verbal & written communication skills
  • Ability to work in varying outdoor climates
  • Physical ability to complete required duties, including sitting, standing, lifting, bending, reaching, and walking

Education:

· High School Diploma or GED equivalent
