Position Title: Retail Back Office Application Support

Team and Location: Information Technology - position may be located in Salt Lake City (UT), Miami (FL), Nampa (ID), or Minot (ND)

Position Summary:

The Application Support role will be responsible for providing application support to Parkland’s internal customers, stores, partners, suppliers, and employees using Parkland’s Retail Backoffice System technologies across 100 stores across the USA. This includes working within content standards, assisting with global changes and working in collaboration with the business to implement and maintain the assigned system(s) or product(s) as well as manage user access request for back-office applications and manage daily jobs and monitoring. The Application Analyst plays a critical role in delivering high quality customer service and support to clients. The Application Analyst will be responsible for creating effective solutions to answer business questions, and to manage, implement, and support application solutions to fulfill the business’ current and future needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as initial point of contact for phone inquiries and emails that relate to all internal Parkland customer issues, requests, and queries within the Retail Backoffice systems.
  • Perform incident management and request fulfillment tasks in support of the business.
  • Perform configuration tasks within the assigned system or product(s).
  • Maintain a high degree of customer service for all support queries while adhering to all service management principles.
  • Interact and coordinate within the business to comprehend and document business requirements.
  • Responsible for the translation of business requirements to technical and functional analysts.
  • Provide assistance in a timely manner that enables diagnosis and resolution of production issues.
  • Perform bi-annual security audits and reviews with business and functional owners.
  • Provide SME knowledge to the prioritization process for business requests.
  • Create and edit reports and dashboards through application functionality or SQL.
  • Ensure applications are kept up to date by upgrading software and/or applying the necessary patches.
  • Write, review, and update documentation for operational applications including application integrations and support processes, user guides, how to’s, etc.
  • Adhere to Change Management policies and procedures.
  • Builds effective working relationships with key vendors and outside contractors to support IT initiatives and manage accounts service level agreements.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Computer Science, equivalent technical certification, or business degree.
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience related to application support.
  • Analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Highly organized and able to manage competing priorities.
  • Able to work and thrive in a collaborative team environment.
  • Skill in promptly detecting, analyzing, and resolving computer software, sometimes with little time or data.
  • Provide support to client groups during routine scheduled business hour and outside scheduled hours during the week and weekends, as needed.
  • Experience with SQL and SQL certification considered an asset.
  • Bilingual Spanish is an asset.
