Parker University is Hiring a Recruiting Specialist Near Dallas, TX

We are seeking individuals who desire to use their unique skills to innovate and make an impact.

The Recruiting Specialist is responsible for the administration of full-cycle recruiting efforts including sourcing, attracting, interviewing, and hiring employees. Developing strategies that ensure a successful candidate search, coordinating and scheduling interviews and assisting with the creation and development of standard operating procedures related to sourcing and onboarding employees, as well as assisting in various other HR functions with a focus on HRIS administration.


WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Recruitment

  • Partnering with hiring managers to determine staffing needs.

  • Screening resumes

  • Performing in-person and phone interviews with candidates

  • Administering appropriate company assessments

  • Performing reference and background checks

  • Meeting with managers to make hiring recommendations.

  • Coordinating interviews with the hiring managers

  • Following up on the interview process status

  • Maintaining relationships with both internal and external clients to ensure staffing goals are achieved.

  • Communicating employer information and benefits during screening process

  • Staying current on the company’s organization structure, personnel policy, and federal and state laws regarding employment practices

  • Serving as a liaison with area employment agencies and industry associations

  • Completing timely reports on employment activity

  • Attend recruiting events and manage social media outlets for recruiting purposes.

  • Maintain the online recruiting application, screen job applicants, and manage internal and external job postings.

  • Post internal and external job vacancies.

  • Conduct reference checks, employment verifications on prospective employees, and submit online requests for new employee background checks.

  • Coordinate and administer applicant skills testing.


HR Administration

  • Maintain human resources records by recording new hires, transfers, terminations, changes in job classifications.

  • Verify I-9 documentation and maintain I-9 files.

  • Process confidential information in a discreet and timely manner.

  • Process “payroll/status change forms” for new hires, promotions, wage increases, etc. as directed.

  • Remain knowledgeable of all policies and procedures in the Employee and Faculty handbooks.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the director.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

EDUCATION/EXPERTISE:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred; a combination of education and experience will be considered.

  • Three years’ experience recruiting with generalist or specialist experience.

  • PHR certification a plus.

  • Strong technical skills including but not limited to HRIS/HRMS, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint and various social media and web applications.

JOB REQUIREMENT/SKILL/ETC.:

  • Knowledge of sound techniques in recruiting, and principles and practices of human resources administration including related state and federal laws and regulations.

  • Excellent verbal communication and organizational skills.

  • Good use of English spelling, grammar, and punctuation skills.

  • Ability to work quickly and multi-task/manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Ability to apply and adapt practices and techniques to the special requirements of hiring managers.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Visual acuity to use a keyboard and view a computer terminal. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp.

  • May require ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; or the ability to stand and walk.

  • Ability to occasionally lift, carry and/or move light to medium weight up to twelve (12) pounds and/or exert up to twelve (12) pounds of force.
