Parker University is Hiring an Academic Business Process Analyst Near Dallas, TX

The Academic Business Process Analyst is pivotal in enhancing data analytics, system efficiencies, and reporting mechanisms across academic departments. This role demands a blend of technical skills and an understanding of academic processes to improve decision-making and operational efficiency.


WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and refine data models to accurately capture academic operations. Utilize dynamic data visualization techniques to synthesize findings, facilitating informed decision-making and strategic planning.

  • Conduct data audits (including R2T4, loan date, advance form, and tuition remission audits) to identify discrepancies and minimize findings, ensuring adherence to regulatory and institutional standards.

  • Lead pivotal projects applying analytical insights to drive improvements and address challenges.

  • Report writing and support for operational and institutional effectiveness using basic T-SQL, Excel, and ad-hoc reporting tools. Translate requirements from business owners to IT for more complex reporting needs.

  • Ensure the accuracy of reports by working with data owners, performing data audits, and regularly reviewing the soundness of reports.

  • Craft and execute advanced reports using Izenda, PowerFAIDS, and other tools, collaborating with IT for complex data needs.

  • Participate in the implementation and daily departmental tasks as assigned. Attend system training and perform user acceptance testing.

  • Respond quickly to emergent problems and focus both on long-range projects and immediate tasks in a fast-paced and changing environment. Must have a high level of energy and responsiveness.

  • Provide Tier 2 support through day-to-day tracking and follow-up on issues and questions or daily operations

  • Facilitate or create documentation, including training materials and user documentation.

  • Perform related duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

EDUCATION/EXPERTISE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, computer information systems, higher education management, or related field required; master’s degree preferred.

  • 7 years of relevant higher education experience, including 4 years of enterprise systems and process improvement experience.

  • Strong systems and technology skills.

  • Knowledge of higher education student records, enrollment, course scheduling, financial aid, and retention.

  • Ability to analyze data, identify anomalies, consolidate findings, and present academic data in a clear concise form.

  • Ability to build effective technology-based business processes.

  • Basic SQL skills are preferred, and a high level of competency in MS Office, especially Excel, is required.

  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills. Advanced technical skills.

  • Skill in researching, analyzing, and evaluating complex data. Ability to analyze and interpret data for accuracy. Detail oriented.

  • Experience creating detailed reports and giving presentations.

  • A track record of following through on commitments.

  • The ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions.

  • Ability to ensure processes comply with financial aid and other enrollment compliance standards.

  • Commitment to ongoing development and continuous improvement.

  • Must have a high level of personal and professional integrity.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Visual acuity to use a keyboard and view a computer terminal. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp.

  • May require ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; or the ability to stand and walk.

  • Ability to occasionally lift, carry, and/or move light to medium weight up to twelve (12) pounds and/or exert up to twelve (12) pounds of force.
