Job Summary:

The Technical Project Manager with a development background is responsible for leading and managing software development projects from initiation to completion. This role requires a deep understanding of software development processes, hands-on technical expertise, and strong project management skills. The Technical Project Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams, developers, and stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality software solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, technical requirements, and deliverables.
  • Develop detailed project plans, outlining development tasks, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • Conduct project kickoff meetings, ensuring alignment on technical and project objectives.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to development teams.
  • Collaborate with architects and developers to design robust and scalable software solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and quality assurance processes.
  • Lead and motivate cross-functional development teams.
  • Manage and allocate development resources effectively.
  • Implement Agile methodologies to drive iterative development.
  • Facilitate sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospective meetings.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, adapting plans as necessary.
  • Establish and oversee quality assurance processes throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Conduct code reviews and ensure compliance with coding standards.
  • Implement testing strategies to validate software functionality and performance.
  • Identify potential technical risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Proactively address technical issues that may impact project timelines or deliverables.
  • Communicate technical concepts and project status to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular status meetings and provide timely updates.
  • Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including architectural diagrams, code documentation, and project reports.
  • Ensure documentation is accessible and up to date for all team members.
  • Evaluate technical outcomes and identify opportunities for process improvement.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficiency in programming languages relevant to the organization's technology stack.
  • Experience with version control systems, continuous integration, and deployment pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture and design principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Technical Project Manager with a focus on software development.
