In addition to the hotel's 144 guest rooms are the Town Company, a three-meal restaurant; Nighthawk, a live music cellar cocktail bar; and a lobby lounge and bar that will bring locals and guests together for impromptu mingling. For the event minded guests, there will be 20,000 feet of meeting space that includes impressive historic ballrooms and a 3,000 square foot rooftop event patio.

We are looking for individuals who demonstrate friendly customer service skills, have a general interest in coffee, and overall cleanliness in the work environment.

**Job Overview**

The Barista is responsible for order-taking, creating and delivery of all Lobby Market food and beverage items.

**Essential Responsibilities**

* Check station before, during and after shift for proper set-up and cleanliness.

* Greet guests in a friendly and courteous manner and explain any specials and/or promotions for guest awareness.

* Record the details of the order from the guests. Repeat the order to the guest to check for accuracy.

* Input the order into the POS (Point of Sale) computer.

* Complete order and deliver to guest along with appropriate condiments. Clear and reset counter area.

* Market and serve upon request any dessert items or specialty coffees.

* Ensure maintenance of equipment by calling for repairs.

* Perform all assigned side work to include replenishing condiments and restocking side stands.

* Perform general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products.

* Ensure all items are stocked at the beginning of the shift according to business demands.

* Completes daily checklist at the close of shift and restock all items.

* Responds to guest inquiries regarding local attractions and restaurants.

* Other tasks as assigned by the Lobby Market Supervisor and Director of Food & Beverage.

**Qualifications**

**Education:**

* High school diploma or GED equivalency required.

**Experience:**

* Working knowledge of coffee brewing and serving equipment.

* 1-5 years previous food and beverage serving experience.

* Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.

* Knowledge of service-ware and menu items.

* Ability to operate a keyboard and POS (Point of Sale) system to close out the guest check.

**Interaction/Skill Set:**

* Ability to remember, recite and promote the entire variety of menu items.

* Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to understand menus, special promotions, and to communicate with guests to explain and record orders.

* Ability to be under and follow directions, and perform job functions with limited supervision.

* Ability to effectively deal with customers complaints and concerns in a friendly and positive manner. This involves listening to the nature of the concern, demonstrating empathy with the guests, and providing positive and proactive solutions.

**Work Environment**

* Ability to lift a minimum of 25lbs less than 1/3 of time.

* Uses hands to feel, finger or handle 2/3 of time.

* Reaches with hands and arms 2/3 of time.

* Listens of talks 2/3 of time.

* Ability to extend arms, scrub, bend, stoop, stand and walk for extended periods of time.
