Are you looking for a rewarding career in a fast paced environment? We are currently hiring a Surgery Assistant to join our team in our Moh's surgery department. Candidates must be willing and able to travel and work in our Suffolk and Williamsburg offices every week on a set schedule. Candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to build a strong rapport with providers and patients. Responsibilities and Duties

• Prepare rooms and surgery trays for the physician
• Triage patients to include medical history
• Prepare patients for surgery
• Assist physician with surgeries
• Administer lidocaine in preparation for surgery
• Provide post-operative care, including dressing changes and post-operative instructions
• Suture removal
• Cleaning instruments and understanding of sterile technique
• Entering the room with the physician during patient visit to capture and transcribe medical record documentation utilizing EHR and other practice software
• Perform other clerical duties and tasks to improve provider productivity and clinic workflow as assigned
• Regular and reliable attendance at assigned facility required
• Preparing and sending all documentation to physician for review and approval via authentication of detailed data entry and facility-specific procedures
• Entering and documenting all referrals, orders and prescriptions as directed by provider to ensure accurate and complete documentation of patient’s visit

Qualifications and Skills

• Ability to travel and work in our Suffolk and Williamsburg offices
• Prior experience as a surgery assistant is preferable
• Prior experience as a medical assistant is required
• Typing 60 WPM or more
• Excellent interpersonal skills; friendly and engaging self-starter that works well in high pressure situations
• Ability to problem solve in a strong, confident manner
• Experience with electronic medical record systems is preferable
• Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
