Parchment School District is Hiring a Parchment MS Boys Soccer Head Coach Near Michigan, MI

SUMMARY: To successfully guide and build the foundation for a solid soccer program at Parchment Middle School. The main responsibility is to instruct athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success. At the same time, the student shall receive instruction that will lead to the formulation of moral values, pride of accomplishment, acceptable social behavior, self-discipline, and self-confidence while analyzing their performance, instructing in relevant skills, and providing encouragement. Practice is usually after school.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma required
  • Demonstrated successful accomplishments as a soccer coach in high school
  • Willingness to become CPR, concussion certified and AED training
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher
  • Successful experience as a player at the high school/college level
  • Hold a valid Michigan teaching certificate

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Instruct athletes regarding techniques, rules, and safety practices of soccer
  • To plan, schedule and conduct a regular program of practice and competition in accordance with rules of the school, the School Board, and the Michigan High School Athletic Association
  • To assist the Director of Athletics in the distribution and collection of appropriate information i.e., Parent Consent Forms, Physical Examination Forms, Birth certificates, Grade Report Forms at the end of each grading period, Accident Forms and any other information concerning the sport
  • To assume responsibility for maintaining an accurate inventory of equipment pertaining to the sport
  • To assume responsibility for supervision, safety and welfare of students participating in the soccer program before, during and after scheduled practices and competitive contests
  • To establish and maintain good rapport with athletes, staff, parents, community groups
  • To assume responsibility for submitting request for transportation forms to the Athletic Director
  • To assist the Athletic Dept. in planning and organization of promotion and participant recruitment and recognition programs pertaining to the sport
  • To recommend purchase of equipment, supplies and uniforms as needed
  • To perform assigned tasks with a high standard of quality
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will continuously work inside or outside depending on the sporting event. Occasionally the employee must be able to meet deadlines with severe time constraints and interact with the public and other workers. The employee has direct responsibility for the safety, well-being, and work output of others. The noise level in the environment is usually moderate.
