IN OFFICE POSITION - Experienced Medical Biller/Collections Specialist for busy Behavioral Health (ABA/OT/Psychology/Psychiatry) agency. Experience with Medical Billing, NJ PIP billing, and Collections is required. We are looking for someone who has a complete understanding of medical billing and insurance collections.

This is not a work from home position. Applicant must be able to work in the physical office in Bergen County, NJ (Franklin Lakes).

This position involves providing excellent customer service, claim follow-ups, knowledge of insurance denials, insurance collections, insurance charge entries, patient collections, and more.

We are looking for someone with great attention to detail and strong organizational skills. The position requires that the employee be responsible for follow up on all insurance claims and patient accounts. Knowledge of CPT codes and ICD10 codes is required

Responsibilities Include

1. Critical thinking and ability to work as part of a collaborative team are essential.

2. Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate claim submissions.

3. Maintains and updates billing and collection data monthly

4. Examines and reviews “Explanation of Benefits”

5. Collaborate with management to ensure claims are billed in a timely manner.

6. Communication with patient for insurance and payment collection.

7. Correction and re-submission of rejected or invalid claims.

8. Collections and appeals with insurance companies.

9. Understand CPT and ICD-10 codes and proper modifiers.

10. Submission of claims and follow up with carriers, use of Navinet and other portals.

11. Answering phones/intake calls

12. Scheduling clients for initial consultation appointment.

13. Interfacing with medical staff and assisting them in the completion of their administrative tasks.

14. Understand NJ PIP billing

Hourly pay will depend on the number of years of experience in medical billing and collections, and general medical office experience
