Instructional CoordinatorLocation: Brookside
Salary: Minimum Base $60,000
Position Type: Full-Time, Salary-Exempt
Role and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Principal, the PSOE Instructional Coordinator directs the planning, delivery, assessment, and ongoing improvement of curriculum and instruction programs. 
Responsibilities
  • Act as a professional advisor to the Principal on all aspects of the school’s instructional program.
  • Serve as an educational program liaison to the school’s Principals and Chief of Schools.
  • Abide by all PSOE frameworks as approved by the CEO and as noted in the staff handbook.
  • Assume all roles as delegated for a variety of administrative functions for the purpose of managing the administrative workload more efficiently. 
  • Maintain ongoing, consistent communication with PSOE leadership as noted in the school’s leadership frameworks.
  • Provide assistance as needed with the PSOE testing structure, implementation, organization, layout, preparatory, etc.
  • Assist with the administration of PSOE’s formal and informal evaluation process, including PSOE’s system of observation, feedback, and support for educational staff.
  • Follow all administrative best practices in terms of legal, authorizer, and legislative guidelines, acting in the best legal interests of the organization.
  • Maintain a physical and digital community presence through community meetings, representative appearances, published articles, web updates, tweets, and blogs.
  • Assist as directed with weekly grade-level accountability meetings with teams during their prep period.
  • Assist with setting, administering, and observing benchmark goals and progress related to PSOE’s data-driven expectations.
  • Provide knowledgeable assistance as directed with the school’s YMCA, Title I, Title III, Special Education, and 21st Century Grant program.
  • Direct the school’s data-driven process through benchmark disaggregation, implementation, training, and dissemination of data-driven tools such as mClass, ACUITY, ISTEP , etc.
  • Provide direct oversight and management of the school’s RTI program.
  • Maintain and update the school’s professional development calendar.
  • Assist with the application and implementation of weekly grade level focused ISTEP Goals.
  • Provide special program curriculum as needed (T&S, Environmental Connections, Robotics, STEM, etc.)
  • Assist with monthly staff and team-lead meetings as well as monthly meeting agendas.
  • Assist as directed with hiring/interviews for the educational team.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
The Instructional Coordinator will be thoroughly committed to the PSOE mission. All candidates should have proven leadership, Coordinatoring, and classroom management experience. Concrete demonstrable experience and other qualifications include:
  • Successful teaching experience. 
  • Valid Indiana State Teaching License or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree in the field of Education
  • Unwavering commitment to quality programs and data-driven program evaluation. 
  • Effective organizational planning and project management skills. 
  • Demonstrates current knowledge of, and the ability to apply broad-based curriculum designs and instructional technology applications that support the diverse learning needs of students. 
  • Ability to establish working relationships with co-workers and function as part of a cohesive team.
  • Commitment to keep current with PSOE workplace innovations that enhance personal productivity.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people.
  • Passion, idealism, integrity, grit, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed.
Preferred Skills
  • Advanced degree, with administrative experience preferred. 
  • Proficiency in modern educational technology applications.
  • Knowledge of current instructional principles as they relate to K-8 education.
  • Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to charter organizations including: special education, Title I, II, and III, FERPA, occupational health and safety, etc.
  • Knowledge of current community challenges and opportunities relating to the mission of the organization.

This job operates in a professional office and school environment. The Instructional Coordinator usually works in an office environment, but the mission of the organization may sometimes take them to non-standard workplaces. The Instructional Coordinator works a standard workweek, but additionally will work evenings, weekends, and any additional hours necessary to accommodate activities such as educational meetings, training, and appearances at public events.
