Responsibilities of Cutters / Grinders / Finishers:

• Cutting, grinding, polishing and finishing various types of heavy metals, tubing, sheet metal and fabricated parts
• Selecting abrasives and/or pastes according to materials, sizes and shapes of work pieces
• Operate CNC and manual machines to cut, grind, and polish
• Document process measurements using the required forms.
• Deciphers blueprints of parts, machines and/or dies
• Verifying quality of finished work pieces by inspecting them.
• Follows all safety and shop rules and regulations
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements of Polisher/Grinder:

• Previous experience with polishing/grinding various heavy metals, sheet metal, stainless steel, and other types of fabricated parts required
• Experience reading and using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc. required
• Experience with power tools and hand tools common to the trade such as hand grinders, polishers
• Strong understanding of GD&T required
• The ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs will be necessary
• Multitasking whenever possible will be required
• Strong communication skills (both written and oral) and the ability to follow direction while also being able to work with little supervision
• Understanding of machining processes and various equipment types highly desired
