Purpose:
Wound Charge Nurse provides direct care, administer treatments and medications, responsible for wound rounds and documentation, tracking and update each resident's comprehensive resident assessment and plan of care.
Duties:
Knowledge of geriatric and general chronic care nursing principles and professional standards of nursing practice and ability to apply to resident spcific circumstances. Able to identify, implement and evaluate appropriate objectives and intervientions for residents.
Performs skin checks on all residents daily
Accompanies NP on wound rounds weekly and updates notes in PCC
Tracks wounds in facility and reports to DON/ADON
Carry out wound orders
Review new/re-admit charts, care plans, orders, labs and documentation
Inservice staff on treatment pass
Assist with treatments
Audit treatment and medication carts and ensure they are kept up weekly
QAPI for wounds
Requirements:
Must have a valid NJ RN license
Must have current CPR certification
Prior wound care experience
Must be Flu Vaccinated
