Parallel Employment Group, in partnership with a Buffalo area manufacturing client, is seeking a qualified Machine Operator.

This position plays a crucial role in operations, ensuring the ability to supply production with SMC material while maintaining the highest standards of safety and accuracy.

Pay Rate : $21 / hr.

Hours : 10am-6 : 30pm

Key Responsibilities :

Safety Follow safety rules and encourage safe practices in the workplace. Responsible for performing duties according to procedures to ensure safe operations.

Ability to make safety suggestions and set a good example for others.

• Works with multiple components like (resins, fillers, pigments) to make batches according to specified formulas.
• Transfer materials from tank to the machine, operating process equipment (pumps, valves, mixers, etc.), and loading / unloading drums and totes.
• Monitors machine operations.
• Assists in start-up, shut downs and clean ups.
• Must be capable of operating or able to learn how to operate a forklift
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Changes chopper blades, produces the ability to work safely.
• Periodically cleans out tank filters to ensure smooth pumping of material and reduce contamination.

Requirements & Qualifications :

• 3-5 years appropriate experience in a continuous process production environment, similar to printing or bottling.
• Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills and a strong sense of urgency.
• Data oriented excels at problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Good mechanical / technical aptitude.
• Good math skills ability to read and understand batching formulas.
• Good oral communication skills.
• Some previous chemical handling experience is a plus.
• Wears personal protective equipment (PPE) when required. Includes; safety glasses, steel toe work boots, earplugs, respirator, face shield, gloves etc.
