Paragon is Hiring an Assistant Project Manager-Operations Near Bethesda, MD

JOB SUMMARY

The Assistant Project Manager (APM)- Operations will play a pivotal role in managing and overseeing security operations at the assigned Client facility. This position requires a candidate with at least eight years of specialized security experience and six years of recent management experience in a similar government or large facility setting. Ideal candidates have leadership experience, are knowledgeable of security client contracts and associated compliance requirements and are comfortable making decisions in a deadline-driven environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Core Duties Include:

  1. Acts as the second-in-command for Client security contract, making decisions and managing security operations in the absence of the Program Manager (PM).
  2. Interfaces with government representatives, Division of Police, physical security personnel, and Client stakeholders to ensure the security mission is effectively executed.
  3. Provides direction and supervision to security supervisors, ensuring compliance with Client award requirements.
  4. Develops and implement procedures for emergency staffing and regularly visit sites to identify and rectify deficiencies.
  5. Responds promptly to issues, concerns, or questions from stakeholders and provide necessary reports and documentation.
  6. Performs duties of the Program Manager as needed and additional tasks assigned by the Contract Officer or FAC-COR.
  7. Performs additional functions, duties and specific tasks of a similar nature and scope as necessary in order to achieve assigned business objectives.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AT ENTRY

Additional qualifications may be specified and receive preference depending upon the nature of the position

Basic Qualifications

  • US citizenship preferred
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Ability to acquire and maintain any other specific government / agency clearances and or access requirements.

Education/Experience

  • Associate degree in law enforcement or security management and at least eight (8) years of specialized security experience and six (6) years of management experience at a government facility or similar facility with a security force equivalent to, or at a minimum, half of the security guards assigned to this award.
  • May substitute a degree /at least four years of documented leadership experience, either in law enforcement, military, or armed security or a combination of both leadership and college courses pursuing a Criminal Justice or Law Enforcement or Homeland Security degree.

Background Prerequisites

Must undergo and meet company standards for background and reference checks, controlled substance testing, physical examination as per assignment and behavioral selection survey, in addition to any mandatory licensing requirements

  • Must be able to meet and continue to meet any applicable state, county and municipal licensing requirements for Security Officers.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to continuously self-educate and adapt to the changes in related industry and service delivery methods.
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn security operations and procedures.
  • Ability to maintain professional composure when dealing with unusual, emotional or confrontational circumstances.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in the external environment and organization.
  • Ability to provide high quality customer service and service delivery orientation
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws related to weapons in the State.
  • Knowledge of supervisory practices and procedures.
  • Skill in staff supervision, including assigning work and providing training and discipline.
  • Ability to provide positive direction and motivate performance.
  • Understanding of a variety of security and safety devices and controls.
  • Ability to track and maintain schedule assignments.
  • Knowledge of business operations management and human resources administration.
  • Ability to synthesize business / financial data and develop recommendations.
  • Ability to take initiative and achieve results.
  • Ability to see, hear, speak, and write clearly in order to communicate with employees and clients. Ability to write routine correspondence, including logs and reports.
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in Ability to be an effective leader and team member.
  • Courteous telephone manner.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in the external environment and organization.
  • Good planning, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to provide high quality customer service and delivery orientation.
  • Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at various social levels and across diverse cultures.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Office Suite, computer usage, and operating controls.
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form.
  •  Maintaining composure in dealing with authorities, executives, clients, staff and the public, occasionally under conditions of urgency and in pressure situations.

WORKING CONDITIONS (PHYSICAL/ MENTAL DEMANDS)
