Planning Manager - Manufacturing, Dietary Supplements
Job Details:
  • Job Type: Full-time.
  • Pay: $85,000 - $118,000 per year.
Position Summary:As the Planning Manager, you will play a pivotal role in spearheading the planning and execution of production schedules that will propel us to new heights. You will lead a team of planning professionals and will be responsible for all aspects of scheduling, planning and inventory activities that impact on timely delivery of orders to customers. The primary responsibilities include Production Planning, Processing Line Scheduling, Capacity Planning, Inventory Management in support of OTD, Material Requirement Planning (MRP), Team Management, Budget and Cost Control, Demand Forecasting.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership in the development of production planning in accordance with sales, sales forecast, plant and employee capacity and new business opportunities.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive work order execution plans, ensuring they align with our company's objectives and customer needs.
  • Lead, mentor, and empower a team of planners, driving them to exceed performance targets and fostering professional growth.
  • Manage MRP to guarantee the required production flexibility and reach the targeted monthly shipping goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Purchasing, Production, Quality to ensure cohesive planning and resource allocation.
  • Identify potential roadblocks and implement innovative solutions to keep projects on track and within budget.
  • Develop and review master plan with third party manufacturers to assure schedule is delivered.
  • Analyze data and provide valuable insights to support executive decision-making.
  • Continuously refine planning processes to enhance efficiency and adapt to changing market demands.
  • Coordinate and lead actual vs. planned schedule reviews and communicate changes/impacts with all stakeholders.
  • Oversee plan workflows, schedules, and materials management activities. Follow up with Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality and Packaging managers/supervisors to enable on time delivery.
  • Provides leadership by promoting team concepts, coaching, counseling, retaining, mentoring, training, talent management, and individual development.
  • Report actual results against Master Planning Schedule.
  • Drives a ‘can do' culture of accountability and results through strategy deployment and effective performance management.
  • Evaluate capacity for the entire system or supply chain to ensure supply and flow of materials stays balanced and can meet demand.
  • Provide oversight and direction to the planning team and individual partners.
  • Promotes team inclusion and engagement by effectively communicating and listening to employees.
  • Organizes meetings with the Sales team to learn of new sales and projects to ensure a plan is developed to ensure on time delivery.
  • Effectively leads the planning team, optimizes planning processes, and contributes to the overall success of projects and the organization.
  • Ability to inspire team members, recognize their efforts, and encourage collaboration and teamwork.
  • Responsible for plans that ensure the fulfillment of monthly financial goals and on time delivery.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, or Operations Management.
  • Proven record of at least 3-5 years as a Planning Manager in strategic planning, scheduling, inventory management, and project management in a GMP environment.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, inspiring trust, and motivating teams to achieve greatness.
  • Proven cross functional communication skills and managed well directed teams.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to turn data into actionable strategies.
  • Visionary thinking with a firsthand approach to problem-solving.
  • Understanding of SOPs, 2-3 years of experience leading a team of planners. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel (Pivot Tables, graphs, and VLOOKUPS).
  • Experience working with MRP/ERP systems.
  • Strong written and verbal business communication abilities with all levels of management.
