Paragon Industries is looking for an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to be a part of our pipe mill operations. He/she will be responsible for ensuring that all equipment within the mill is maintained according to the OEM’s standards and company policies and procedures in a condition of operating excellence so that full process use is maintained at all times. This person will also work with all phases of maintenance related duties and mill operations.

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves lifting of materials and product up to 50 pounds. Operation requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, steel-toed work boots, hearing protection, and hardhats.

• Qualifications:
  • Technical training or equivalent in mechanical maintenance and/or equivalent work experience in a manufacturing related industry.
  • Five (5) to ten (10) years of experience in Mechanical Maintenance of an Industrial facility
  • Experience in industrial manufacturing maintenance in electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems, welding, torch cutting is preferred or a combination of skills to perform the duties.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new software applications.
  • Must have attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and discretion with confidential information.
  • Manuel dexterity required for operating hand tools, machinery, and equipment.
  • Be able and available to work extended hours when situations arise such as emergency breakdowns and scheduled outages.
  • Experience in Pipe Mill operations and maintenance is preferred.

• Responsibilities:
  • Initiate, implement, and assist Maintenance Manager in the mill maintenance program based on best practices with an emphasis on planning/scheduling and preventive/predictive maintenance.
  • Assist and coordinate with Maintenance Manager and Production Manager on equipment and machinery with the focus and priority on Pipe Mill Operations.
  • Analytically resolve mechanical malfunctions back to OEM Specifications.
  • Ensure operation of machinery and equipment by replacing and repairing parts, working on conveyor systems, and using cranes and hoists.
  • Communicate regularly with all maintenance technicians, both individually and as a group, to ensure two-way communication concerning maintenance issues.
  • Execute cost saving projects in terms of Maintenance & Engineering
  • Reviews the operation of plant equipment and systems constantly to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Initiate and carry out projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.
  • Communicate directly with the operations department to coordinate maintenance and repair work in mill areas.
  • Follow all safety procedures, LOTO, and practices good housekeeping ethics.
  • Other duties as assigned.
