Responsibilities:
The Med / Surg Charge Nurse is responsible and accountable for the quality of staff and functions during their shift. Assists the Department Director in the daily operations of the unit, directing, supervising and evaluating personnel, ensuring the proper use of time, equipment and resources. Ensures the efficient functions of the department . Performs direct patient care, only as needed, within the scope of practice. Continually assesses patient care and directs staff to make necessary changes in the plan of care. Effectively communicates with physicians and staff to ensure positive patient outcomes.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
1. Current and valid state RN License.
2. Current BLS upon hire and maintain current.
3. Current ACLS 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
4. Current PALS upon hire and maintain current, preferred.
5. Previous supervisory experience, one to two years, in acute care hospital Surgical OR setting, preferred.
6. Minimum of 5 years of experience in an acute care operating room preferred.
7. CNOR within 2 years, preferred.
8. Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN), preferred.
9. Competency in Sedation Monitoring within 30 days upon hire and maintain current.

Paradise Valley Hospital offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package that provides employees the flexibility to tailor benefits according to their individual needs. A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $44.00 to $69.94. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
