Salary: $56,000 to $62,000 DOE

Organization and Program Description:
Para Los Niños, a local non-profit organization with a mission to empower and engage Latino families to transform communities and create more opportunities for academic and life success for every Latino student, seeks a qualified bilingual Youth Coordinator to lead the After School “PLN Youth Latinx Program” in High School aged and promote school success for Latino children.

Youth Coordinator works with High School Aged youth and provides academic support for students, from 9 th to 11 th grade, cultural pride and fun activities. Students receive individualized help with homework, as well as supplemental activities to boost math and reading skills. Exploration of pathways for higher education or other alternatives for life success is also offered to students.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Provide a safe and enriching learning environment for 10 to 25 students grades 9 to 12 grades – develop, teach, and facilitate lessons .
• Connect and communicate with parents, caregivers, and families
• Other admin related duties: class reports, program attendance tracking, reading tracking, attendance at community meetings and HPS Roundtable etc.
• Input, maintain, and update data participants/students information in our data system

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Bilingual and bicultural, 100 % English and Spanish required
• High School age teaching experience or equivalent experience 3 to 5 years preferably
• Experience facilitating Youth Groups, Youth Outreach, and knowledge of School Systems
• PLN will pay for First Aid and CPR certification within the first 30 days of start of position
• Valid WA State driver’s license (including car insurance)
• Familiar with Microsoft Office programs including Excel, and Word
• Ability to develop meaningful relationships with youth and their parents/caregivers
• Be flexible, self-motivated, able to work well in a diverse team environment as well as independently, and have great communication skills
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date files and documentation databases for complete and timely reporting.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings
• Support the youth groups to reach their academic goals
• Attend meeting according with the program
• The ability to lift 25/50/80 pounds regularly
