Fuel Truck Driver - $10,000 Sign-on Bonus!
Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Trucking Supervisor the position will perform tank truck and trailer driver duties to deliver petroleum products to company retail sites or commercial customers by following specific policies and procedures from written or verbal instructions.

Essential Job Duties:
  • Receives delivery orders from the truck dispatcher, organizes delivery route to including all preparations for delivery and calls dispatcher or leaves message on recorder after each delivery.
  • Following the Department of Transportation safety specifications performs pre-delivery trip check on tank truck and fuels, inspects truck for general operating requirements, and ascertains that all required equipment is available and in good operating condition.
  • Drives a tank truck & trailer or tractor/ trailer to customer’s location, connects hose to tank and opens valves, reads gauges, record amounts delivered and leaves delivery ticket receipt with customer. Loads truck and/or trailers at designated facilities following all rules and regulations for each facility.
  • Returns to the terminal at the end of the workday and completes post trip truck inspection to determine if repairs are necessary. Accurately completes all regulatory and customary paperwork.
  • Establishes/maintains good customer service and rapport while handling customer’s questions or
    schedules. Calls customers before loading/leaving load rack to ensure the customer is able to receive the load. Answer inquiries as appropriate and/or refers customers to the trucking supervisor for assistance.
  • Maintains assigned work areas, tank truck vehicle and/or its equipment in a clean and orderly manner performing housekeeping chores as required and/or directed.
  • Follows, maintains and adheres to all safety rules and regulations for ships, loading docks, customer
    premises, traffic laws, rules and DOT regulations. Follows all environmental procedures and reports all safety and environmental incidents and concerns immediately to the supervisor.
  • Will perform minor work on vehicles as needed, i.e. change light bulbs, replace discharge valves, hose ears, etc.
Other Job Duties:
  • Perform other duties as required and requested.
Education:
  • Minimum high school diploma or GED required.
Experience / Knowledge / License Requirements:
  • Must possess a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Type A with TX Endorsements
  • At least three years of experience as a professional truck driver. Petroleum experience desired.
  • A clean driving abstract for the last five years.
  • General mechanical knowledge and skills.
  • A working knowledge of math and chemistry is required. Must be able to perform routine mathematical calculations.
  • Must be available to work overtime as needed and be able to commit to DOT “Hours of Service” with Par Hawaii.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 60 pounds.
  • Good communication skills, ability to work with deadlines, organizational ability and problem solving.
  • Ability to work in difficult conditions and with situations that involve customers, operations and
    emergencies.

  • SUPPORTIVE TEAM PLAYER: Can work effectively with everyone; positive influence, shares information. Has the ability and willingness to participate in a team-oriented approach to work. Can develop trust in coworkers, management, and all levels of the company.
  • CUSTOMER SERVICE/COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Demonstrates a high level of customer service in
    interactions with other customers, vendors, and service providers. Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, specifically, legibly in writing as well as verbally about conditions, problems, analyses made, actions taken, current conditions.
  • SAFETY/ENVIRONMENTAL MINDEDNESS: Follows, maintains and adheres to all safety rules and
    regulations, including traffic laws, rules and DOT regulations. Will take personal responsibility for safety of self and others; feels all accidents can be avoided. Follows all environmental procedures.
  • ATTENDANCE AND JOB STABILITY: Can be expected to attend regularly, and be on time. Reliable. Is not a job-hopper.
  • PHYSICAL ABILITY: Ability to meet all physical demands of the job.
