We are seeking a Design Manager Major Projects to join the Design team at the Pappas Restaurants Main Office in Northwest Houston. The Design Manager Major Projects is responsible for the successful management of multiple projects from design, development, construction, and completion. Project types include new construction and major remodels of restaurants and support facilities.
Responsibilities

• Manages Major Projects Design Team composed of architectural, interior and kitchen designers
• Prepares documents and ROI analyst for approval
• Creates preliminary project budget and ROI analysis
• Creates project budget and track cost throughout project
• Establishes, manages, and continues to refine internal major project process
• Manages and tracks project budget, timelines, and schedules
• Selects and manages external consultants
• Coordinates and provide guidance to construction team including internal construction team members, outside general contractors, or a combination of both
• Coordinates with real estate department and manage real estate architect

• Positive and professional leader with experience coaching and developing a team
• Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Science, Business, or related field of study
• 7 years project management experience
• 5 years previous management/supervisory experience
• Excellent understanding of architecture and construction standards
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Experience using AutoCAD and Photoshop
• Expert in managing multiple projects simultaneously with strong results/goal orientation
• Outstanding collaboration and leadership skills
• Proven ability to lead teams, build trust, and empower people
• Analytical and excels at problem solving
• Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
• A valid Texas driver’s license and clean driving record
• Master’s in Business Administration, a plus
