Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Surgical Coordinator to join our team. The Surgical Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of surgical procedures, ensuring smooth operations and excellent patient care. The ideal candidate will have experience in ophthalmology or medical office administration and possess strong communication and multitasking skills.

Responsibilities:

- Schedule surgical procedures, including pre-operative consultations, surgeries, and post-operative appointments

- Coordinate with patients, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and efficient scheduling

- Obtain necessary patient information and medical records for surgical procedures

- Prepare surgical packets with all necessary documents and instructions for patients

- Assist patients with completing required paperwork and provide information about the surgical process

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of surgical procedures, including documentation of patient information, consent forms, and post-operative instructions

- Collaborate with the billing department to ensure accurate coding and billing for surgical procedures

Experience:

- Previous experience in an ophthalmology or medical office setting is required

- Proficiency in EHR

- Strong administrative skills, including medical records management and scheduling

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment

- Attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping
