Job Summary

The Senior Director of Security & Loss Prevention will oversee and coordinate security and loss prevention efforts across the company, including global operations. This position is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of the comprehensive global security and loss prevention initiatives and standards for all Papa John’s processes. This role involves identifying security risks, implementing measures to mitigate losses, and ensuring the safety and security of personnel and assets. The Sr. Director of Security and Loss Prevention collaborates with various departments to establish policies, procedures, and protocols aimed at preventing theft, vandalism, fraud, and other security breaches. Additionally, this position manages physical security including CCTV security systems, security personnel, investigations, while providing oversight to the practices and procedures used to control safety and security risks, prevent losses and litigation, and protect team members and assets across all corporate entities. Including corporate restaurants, Quality Control Centers, and corporate hubs as well as certain offsite corporate activities.

Duties and Responsibilities (other duties as assigned)

  • Lead the operational security and loss prevention activities to enhance the value and brand of Papa John’s International.
  • Evaluate the type and level of security risks facing our global operations and implement programs to incorporate risk mitigation into the strategic planning processes for these operations.
  • Manage the ISOS monitoring system.
  • Identify annual protection goals, objectives, and security metrics consistent with the corporate strategic plan.
  • Safeguard the company’s assets, including the physical safety of employees, clients, customers, and visitors.
  • Manage the development and implementation of a global security policy, standards, guidelines, and procedures to ensure ongoing maintenance of security throughout the enterprise.
  • Physical protection responsibilities will include asset protection, insider threat, workplace violence prevention, access control systems, video surveillance and executive protection.
  • Oversee and enhance the Safety Captain program at both the Louisville and Atlanta corporate hubs.
  • Oversee team member education and security awareness. Provide training to employees on security protocols, emergency procedures, and awareness programs to promote a culture of security within the organization.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with industry security and loss prevention experts, local, state, and federal law enforcement and other related government agencies both domestically and internationally.
  • Oversee the development of the loss prevention function and processes including fraud management, internal and external investigations, incident response planning as well as the investigation of misconduct and security breaches.
  • Assist with disciplinary and legal matters associated with breaches.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with security and cash control vendors to drive best practices.
  • Develop and manage the budget for security and loss prevention operations, including personnel, equipment, and other resources.
  • Schedule and provide oversight and direction to the contracting officers at both the Louisville and Atlanta hubs.
  • Ability to travel internationally.
  • Assist with executive protection details for ELT and BOD meetings as needed.

Education, Experience & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Law Enforcement experience preferred
  • 5 years loss prevention preferred
  • International security experience preferred
  • CPP or LPC preferred or willingness to obtain within the first year.
  • Experience working with Executive Leadership Teams preferred.
  • Experience driving and managing vendor relationships.
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing and leading security initiatives.
  • Proven ability to build collaborative relationships.
  • Commonwealth of Kentucky CCDW required. LEOSA preferred.
