Reports to: Supervisor, RxARECARE

Purpose:

The Clinical EAP Liaison provides support and education to health care providers for prescribed treatment therapies. The Clinical EAP Liaison plays a crucial role in managing incoming patient requests, facilitating the set-up of orders within internal systems, and overseeing the request process through to the successful shipment of drugs. This role serves as a single point of contact for health care providers and site staff participating in expanded access program (EAP), and for certain programs, with patients and caregivers, ensuring a seamless and compassionate experience throughout. 

Responsibilities:

  • Manages receipt of EAP referrals or requests, ensuring receipt of all intake documentation necessary for patient and treating physician profile creation.
  • Schedules and lead welcome calls with treating physicians and site staff to confirm shipment scheduling, provide drug education overview as required, and other EAP process-related guidance as agreed with manufacturer.
  • Confirms with treating physicians/site team if patient consents to be contacted directly by PANTHERx. Where consent has been provided, serve as the lead point of contact for patients/caregivers.
  • Schedules and leads welcome calls with patients/caregivers to confirm shipment scheduling and provide warm transfer to Clinical Pharmacist who will provide instructions relating to drug administration and reconstitution, dosing, and storage requirements.
  • Works with patients/caregivers to determine their preferred method of communication during the EAP. Collaborate with the Program Manager (PM) on the execution of the determined communication method. 
  • Guides physicians/site staff regarding refill process and provide reminders at a frequency as agreed with manufacturer.
  • Ensures IRB approval documentation is in place prior to approving shipment to dispense.
  • Works closely with internal departments, including logistics, to initiate shipments and ensure smooth order fulfilment. In cases where drug will be shipped directly to the patient, ensure authorization from the treating physician has been signed. 
  • Manages adverse event reports according to the Safety Monitoring Plan (SMP).
  • Supports PM with adverse event reconciliation according to the terms of the SMP. 
  • Supports PM with specific case queries and other Client questions as they arise. 
  • Participates in internal program meetings. 
  • Collaborates with the PM on EAP Product to Commercial Product transition process and lead timely communication to physicians/site team regarding requirements, as the transition to commercial product approaches, assuming FDA approval.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing school as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Must have demonstrated competence in community health or patient care setting, providing direct patient care with patients for 1-3 years. 
  • Strong writing and grammar skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and a thorough knowledge of computers (Microsoft Office and Windows) are required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and meet goals.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • 1-3 years of specialty pharmacy experience

Work Environment:
