What You'll Do

This position requires an understanding of leadership for manufacturing operations such as pressing, machining, and non-destructive evaluation; knowledge of the principles of Conduct-of-Operations, manufacturing safety, ability to communicate clearly through both the oral and written word; proficiency in Microsoft Office; demonstrated ability to manage programs and processes as well as the ability to supervise personnel comprised of exempt, non-exempt, and bargaining employees in the performance of high hazard explosive operations.

This position will manage supervisors and other managers in High Explosive Machining, Conventional Metal Machining, Subassembly Operations, and Non-Destructive Evaluation areas.

Minimum Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree: Minimum 10 years of relevant experience; minimum 5 years of supervisory/management experience
  • Eighteen (18) or more years of education and/or relevant experience may be considered to satisfy educational and years-of-experience requirements for this posting
Preferred Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in STEM-related discipline (Engineering, Engineering Technology, Physics, or related discipline)
  • General knowledge of machining and subassembly operations, explosive safety, scheduling activities between personnel as well as organizations, and working with external/internal organizations
  • Knowledge of SAP and IPRO
  • Demonstrated computer skills and knowledge of software applications including Microsoft Office
  • The ability to effectively communicate through the oral and written word
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead a cohesive team in a challenging technical environment

Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.

Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required, candidate must complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph, pursuant to 10CFR 709. Medical requirements may apply.
