Panorama Mortgage Group,LLC is Hiring a Remote Post-Purchase Underwriter

Position Overview:

The Post-Purchase Underwriter is responsible for reviewing closed loan documents, obtaining documentation to satisfy investor requirements, and providing appeals to investors in designated timeframes to ensure salability. Communication and diplomacy skills are required to successfully negotiate resolutions with investors. The Post-Purchase Underwriter must have an in-depth understanding of loan program guidelines and mortgage regulations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Possess knowledge of basic lending and underwriting policies and procedures, including guidelines issued by FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, RD, and multiple investors.
  • Routinely check investors websites for investor stipulations
  • Verifies that all investor stipulations requested are valid (disputes invalid conditions) and clears valid ones to ensure that loans are salable/purchased.
  • Assists with the clearing of Investor's requirements and requests; prevents and/ or resolves issues as they arise.
  • Calculate income and assets accurately and provide sufficient documentation to support findings and decisions.
  • Effectively communicate with sales, operations and other third parties to aid in resolving investor conditions.
  • Requests and follows up daily with sales, operations and other third parties on all outstanding documents.
  • Ensures that closed loans are in compliance with federal, state laws and meet company policies and Investor guidelines.
  • Assists with other aspects of the post-closing process on an as-needed basis.
  • Keeps Management abreast of all Investor or internal department related trends or challenges.
  • Works independently and prioritizes work while meeting pre-established deadlines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:

Five years of underwriting experience in mortgage banking and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of mortgage principles and theories
Understanding of TILA, RESPA and Predatory Lending
Strong analytical and decision making/problem solving skills.
Possess a keen eye for accuracy, attention to detail and ability to handle a high-volume workload.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, prioritization and time management skills
Proficient in computers including LOS systems, Microsoft Office, and Excel. Ability to adapt/ learn/utilize multiple software programs. Experience with paperless environment preferred.
Ability to deliver effective results and to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
Self-starter, adaptable to a changing environment, and have ability to communicate and work well with others.
Possess clear, concise, and effective written and oral communication skills.
Thorough knowledge of credit scoring, analytical problem-solving and negotiation skills.
Professional demeanor in appearance, interpersonal relations, work ethic and attitude
Timely communication and response times according to department standards

Travel:

As needed travel internationally between United States and Mexico to meet business needs.

Language:

English required, Bi-Lingual (English/Spanish) desired.
