As the Manager, Engineering you will collaborate with the Product Management team and Sales Engineers to ensure your team is aligned with Panasonic Connect's goals and objectives. The Engineering team focuses on the following core areas product and solution development, product demonstrations, product operational training, product user guides, product evaluations, advanced technical support/problem resolution, consulting support, customer satisfaction as well as quality management.

Voice of Customer

• Lead Voice of Customer activities to assist in product development and improvement.
• Collect VOC from customers using direct and indirect methods.
• Present VOC information to development team to ensure products are well suited to current market conditions.

Third Party Product Support

• Work with 3rd parties to identify potential product solutions.
• Act as subject matter expert for 3rd parties regarding product needs.
• Work with factory development team to act as point of contact for some US based third party developers

Product Evaluation and Training

• Evaluate current and upcoming products to identify and remedy product issues.
• Evaluate and document competitive analysis to ensure market feasibility of all products.
• Provide new product and workflow training for internal sales team and external parties.
• Maintain internal training curriculum to ensure all members of the US sales company are up to date on current technology.

Support Sales Activities

• Assist in the development and design of high-level sales activities including customer demos and trade shows.
• Work with marketing team to provide technical expertise during the development of trade show booths.

Customer support

• Act as escalation point for support and service team regarding product specific issues.
• Assist in troubleshooting complicated problems using subject knowledge and hands-on testing.

Product Knowledge

• Develop an extensive technical understanding of all Panasonic broadcast, cinema and professional video systems, solutions and services. This includes
• KAIROS SMPTE ST 2110 IP based production switcher system, PTZ cameras which includes streaming and auto tracking workflows.
• Studio camera systems and Camcorders.

Leadership and Supervisions

• Lead and supervise members of the engineering team to include establish priorities for work, allocating personnel resources to support the needs of the business.
• Oversee and mentor members of the engineering team to include professional development in areas of technical expertise and product knowledge as well has developing soft skills.
• Conduct reviews as determined by company policy and provide constructive feedback to team members when appropriate.

What You'll Bring

Education and Experience

• B.S. degree in at least one of the following areas: computer science, electrical engineering, Broadcast, or AV Engineering
• CCNA certification preferred.
• Working knowledge of SMPTE ST 2110
• Working knowledge of streaming protocols
• Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Apple Mac OS and Linux
• 5 plus Years of experience in technical interface with resellers and end-users on hardware, software, and entanglement services
• Proactive thinker who takes a systematic approach to solving problems to ensure customer satisfaction and achieving company goals.
• Leadership or Management experience is required.

Required Communication Skills

• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Skilled presenter who is comfortable with presenting one-on-one or to large audiences.
• Effectively communicate with internal departments. Including sales, service, product management, engineering and executive management.

• Assist in the set up and execution of on-site sales demos.
• Set up and perform on-site customer training.
• Collaborate with the Sales Engineering and Service team to provide on-site support.

Engineering and Product Testing

• Conduct product evaluations.
• Test and submit reports on engineering samples from the factory.
• Consolidate feedback from stakeholders to offer input on product roadmap.
• Assist in the development of solutions for combinations of Panasonic and 3rd party products.
• Test, evaluate and submit reports on relevant software, Panasonic and 3rd party.

Administrative Responsibilities

Additional Requirements

• Ability to work variable hours including some weekend due to business travel, customer availability and trade show involvement.
