POSITION SUMMARY:

The Panama City Port Authority is seeking an individual to join the team as an Information Technology Technician. The ideal candidate will be working in a fast-paced environment, with day-to- day tasks focusing on supporting LAN/WAN hardware and end user technology to maintain 100% availability of all IT related systems and software in a diverse network.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Strong working knowledge of LAN/WAN technology to configure and resolve problems with Cisco hardware and software such as firewalls, routers, switches and cabling, and HyperV virtual infrastructures.
• Act as technical resource to relevant network matters for other organizational units

· Strong dedication to quality customer service and superior telephone etiquette with the ability to deal effectively with customers, vendors, peers and management.

· Candidate must exhibit a sense of urgency, individual responsibility, and a willingness to accept constantly changing priorities.

· Familiarity with SQL programming.

· Good organizational skills and superior problem-solving ability.

· Demonstrate sound logic and judgment.

· Creative/Innovated approach to projects.

· Effective written & verbal communication, as well as interpersonal skills and a desire to work in a team environment, establishing & maintaining good working relationships with others, to support team & company objectives, and a willingness to work in all operational areas.

• Participation in project delivery work, including device configuration, planning, and vendor coordination.
• Work with users to understand their needs and with IT personnel to develop effective system solutions for assigned applications.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

· Must have completed a BA/BS degree or comparable combination of experience/training/certification

· Ability to work proactively in a team environment

· Strong familiarity with LAN/WAN systems, Cisco networking hardware, HyperV infrastructures, Powershell, Active Directory, SQL, and cloud backup solutions.

· Working conditions include industrial/manufacturing settings which may include extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.

· Detail oriented

· Ability to carry computer equipment up to 50 pounds

· Ability to multitask and exhibit competent decision-making skills

· Solve problems independently

Must be able to remain in a stationary position with prolonged periods of sitting or standing

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $20.56 - $24.76 per hour
