Construction Crew Leader

This full-time AmeriCorps service position offers a great opportunity to make an impact in the lives of others while building your own knowledge and skillset.
AmeriCorps National members serve the community in direct service and capacity building activities.
What will you do?
The construction crew leader plays an integral part in building and repairing homes. Lead groups of skills and unskilled volunteers and homeowner families in construction activities while maintaining a safe, efficient work environment, thus, developing and enhancing your volunteer management and construction skills.
This position will focus on home construction and home repair aspects of Habitat affiliate operations.
Where will you serve?
It is in Moscow, home to the University of Idaho, and just across the border from Washington State University. Enjoy Moscow’s charming small-town feel and active arts scene by exploring the shops downtown, or by visiting the farmer’s market to shop for fresh food and artisan crafts.
The outdoor scene in the Palouse area also offers a lot of opportunities for fun. Boat Hells Canyon National Recreation Area;
fish for steelhead, trout, or sturgeon in the Snake River’s fertile waters; and bike through the Palouse’s trademark rolling hills on paved paths.
Sports fans can enjoy multiple attractions offered by University of Idaho and Washington State University athletics.
Unique projects : An AmeriCorps member will assist with hands-on construction task including demolition, site prep, framing, insulation, drywall, flooring, roofing, finish carpentry, and landscaping.
Projects include new construction as well as installing ramps and rails for individuals in need of safe access to their homes.

Minimum Requirements :
Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, national or lawful permanent resident at least 18 or older and have a high school diploma or GED.
